The design formula used for the calculations in:
- US Customary Units, is based on Article 192.105, 49 CFR 192: "Transportation of Natural and Other Gas by Pipeline", or Article 192.106, 49 CFR 195: "Transportation of Hazardous Liquids by Pipelines"
- SI units, is based on Article 4.3.3.1.1, CSA Z662: "Oil and Gas Pipeline Systems"
